Working together with Tourism Malaysia as a smart partner, this mini Tourism Malaysia TIC aims to instil the interest of traveling in children, particularly domestic travel. It is also meant to grow the interest amongst children in planning family vacations to domestic destinations and most importantly, to educate the importance of the tourism industry to children at an early age. Children would also be excited after their role-playing experience and will be sharing their experience, and destinations in Malaysia that they have learnt to their family and friends.

The concept of the Tourism Malaysia TIC revolves around kids being in an environment similar to an actual Tourism Malaysia TIC, with activities such as creating tour packages and tour itineraries. Kids will be exposed to local destinations and learn to create detailed planned holiday travels. Activities such as these would assist participating kids in developing and organising their strategic and creative thinking skills.

I am confident that this initiative will give greater insight into Malaysia’s tourism industry and open their minds and hearts to the possibilities of travel within Malaysia at an early age.”

Susanah Abdul Rani also said, “Tourism is a people-oriented industry and through this new establishment, we would like to be able to instil in children the confidence and ability required to manage large groups of people; while also exposing them to the workings of one of the world’s fastest growing industries. As KidZania is a city for children, a tourism centre is truly a welcome addition as KidZania aspires and to continually provide a realistic city environment where children can work, participate in an economy and contribute to society and we at KidZania would like to take the opportunity to thank Tourism Malaysia for embarking on a new and exciting journey with us.”

About KidZania

KidZania is an indoor family education and entertainment centre, which offers an interactive learning and entertainment experience targeted at kids aged 4 to 14 years. KidZania combines role-play with real life, creating a kid-centric city experience designed to educate and inspire kids; from arriving at the airport, to visiting a city centre to exploring the city streets. As in the real world, kids choose activities – such as being a police officer, doctor, journalist or a customer – and earn money, which they can then spend or save. KidZania operates just like a real city complete with buildings, paved streets, vehicles, a functioning economy, and recognisable destinations in the form of “establishments” sponsored and branded by leading international and local brands. The facilities are designed to educate through experience, fostering the development of life skills, but from a kid’s perspective it is all about fun.

KidZania Kuala Lumpur has won numerous awards, including “Best Experience for Kids” at the Best of Malaysia Awards (BOMA) 2013 and 2014 consecutively. Spread over 80,000 sq. ft. across two levels, KidZania Kuala Lumpur is conveniently located in Curve NX opposite the Curve shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara and offers more than 100 different role-playing activities in over 60 establishments.
