Tips for A Healthy Gut

The gut plays an important role in other areas of your child's health, such as ensuring proper absorption of nutrients, as well as supporting a healthy immune system. In contrast, poor gut health is associated with a variety of symptoms such as flatulence, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and poor appetite hence it's essential to care for gut health in order to maintain overall health and wellbeing.i

So to ensure your child have a healthy gut there is 4 ways that are suggested to be done :

1. Stay Hydrated

Ensure that your child drinks enough of plain water daily. It is recommended that children aged 2 to 3 years old drink 1 to 2 glasses, while children aged 4 years and above drink 6 to 8 glasses throughout the day.1

2. Exercise

Make exercise fun for your child. Encourage your child to accumulate at least 60 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activities daily, such as brisk walking and cycling.1

3. Eat more fruits & vegetables

Include a variety of fruits and vegetables to your child's diet to ensure that the nutrients needed are met, including dietary fibre which helps to facilitate good bowel movement. For children below 7 years old, give at least 2 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruits daily.1

4. Consume food with prebiotics
