There is no doubt that Kuala Selangor has many hidden gems that even Selangor residents are unaware of. Filled with beautiful ‘instagrammable’ places to visit and a variety of activities to do, Kuala Selangor is the place for you!


1. Husin Fauzi Farm


Located in the heart of Kuala Selangor, Husin Fauzi Farm is a farm that has over 40 species of animals and offers a range of activities for children and families to enjoy. The farm has a petting zoo where visitors can interact with a variety of animals, including ponies, cows, goats, and rabbits. 


Children can also go horseback riding and participate in animal feeding. In addition to these activities, the farm also offers archery as a fun and exciting activity for visitors. Husin Fauzi Farm is a great destination for families who are looking for a fun and interactive experience with animals and farming.


2. Taman Alam Kuala Selangor

This nature park is home to a myriad of flora and fauna, including rare species of birds and butterflies. There are 156 species of birds of which 57 of them migrated from Siberia and Russia. The best time to visit would be around September to April, where this park will be the migration point for birds abroad so visitors can plan their visit around this time for bird-watching activities. 


Some of the local bird species include stork, mangrove blue flycatcher, kingfisher, black eagle, while the migrated birds consist of purple heron, great eagle, tiger shrike, arctic shrike and more! Visitors are also recommended to bring binoculars for bird watching! Opens from 9 am till 6 pm everyday, visitors can take a leisure walk along the rainforest or mangrove trails and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.


3. Kelip-Kelip Kampung Kuantan


This popular attraction is a must-visit for anyone interested in observing the fireflies that inhabit the mangroves of Kuala Selangor. The fireflies that inhabit this mangrove is the ‘pteroptyx tener’ species and they produce the lights simultaneously with three blinks per second. 


The boatmen will also use traditional boats and paddle to avoid noise pollution that will disturb the fireflies’ habitat. Opens from 7.30 pm until 10.30 pm every day, visitors can take a boat ride through the mangroves and marvel at the beautiful light display.


4. Laluan Seni Pekan Lama


Laluan Seni Pekan Lama is an arts and cultural trail located in Pekan Lama, which is a town in Kuala Selangor. The trail is filled with 15 heritage-based art and murals on the walls of older buildings in the town, complete with a colourful path. Some of the more prominent artwork there are named Bunga Artistik by artists; Izwan Rahimi, Fendi Rosli and Andi Syafie; and Lombong Bijih Timah by CO2 Mural. 


Several artists with diverse backgrounds, such as Fendigua, Husna Helmee and Loque, also contributed to the creation of the unique and beautiful murals. The trail is very instagrammable and great for OOTD pictures!


5. Masjid Raja Lumu

Masjid Raja Lumu is another landmark built in Kuala Selangor which was erected on the site of the former Kuala Selangor Old Mosque. This mosque was inaugurated by Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj as the 9th royal mosque in Selangor. It is located at the foot of Melawati Hill and known for its beautiful modern architecture, copper domes, big archways and stained glass windows. 


The name of this Mosque was chosen in honour of the first Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Salehuddin Shah. This mosque is conveniently located near Kelip-kelip Kg Kuantan and Melawati Hill, making it a great addition to your travel itinerary.


6. Sasaran Art Beach

Sasaran Art Beach is an art gallery located at a small fishing village in Kuala Selangor called Sasaran village that brings the local art community together through various art exhibitions and workshops whether internationally or locally such as the Sasaran International Ceramic Art Workshop 2019 and Sasaran Artist Residency 2019. 


It is organised by the Sasaran Art Association where they give opportunities for artists to display their talents, with the latest line up for the recent mural project involving Bibichun, Sliz, Ng Kim Heoh and Jason Teo Jia Hao.
