Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia Empowers Mothers Through Breastfeeding Awareness Initiative. | In conjunction with World Breastfeeding Month 2026, Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia has launched “Empowering Every Mother’s Journey”, an initiative aimed at raising awareness about breastfeeding, supporting mothers and encouraging meaningful conversations around maternal and newborn well-being.

The initiative brings together expert insights, personal experiences and practical support to highlight the realities of breastfeeding and the importance of creating a supportive environment for mothers and babies.

Supporting Mothers Through Every Breastfeeding Journey

While Malaysia has made encouraging progress in promoting exclusive breastfeeding, mothers may still face various physical, emotional and practical challenges throughout their breastfeeding journey.
“At Toshiba, we believe innovation should serve a greater purpose by enhancing the quality of everyday life – supporting families and mothers with insights and home solutions so that they can navigate important moments with greater confidence. By integrating technology, education and community care, we aim to support mothers throughout their breastfeeding journey and contribute towards healthier beginnings for newborns,” said Vanice Foo, Head of Brand Management, Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia.

The event was officiated by YB Yeo Bee Yin, Chairperson of the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) for Women, Children and Community Development, who emphasised the importance of collaboration between families, communities, healthcare professionals and the private sector in supporting mothers.
“Breastfeeding is not only a mother’s personal journey but involves families, communities and healthcare professionals. Mothers may face many challenges as they navigate their motherhood journey. Today’s initiative demonstrates the importance of collaborations between the public and private sectors to educate and build a more supportive environment for mothers and babies,” said YB Yeo Bee Yin.

Expert Perspectives on the Realities of Breastfeeding

The forum featured a panel discussion with YB Yeo Bee Yin, Elizabeth Richard, Certified Lactation Consultant & Infant Care Expert, and Natasha Hudson, model, ceramist and wellness advocate.

The panellists shared different perspectives on breastfeeding, highlighting the importance of breastfeeding education, professional guidance, emotional support and informed choices.

Elizabeth Richard highlighted that while breast milk provides important nutritional and protective benefits for babies, breastfeeding can also present challenges for mothers.
“Breastfeeding can come with physical, emotional and practical challenges, and without the right information and support, mothers may find it difficult to continue. Consistent education, professional guidance and a supportive environment are therefore essential in helping mothers feel more confident throughout their breastfeeding journey,” she said.

Meanwhile, Natasha Hudson shared that every mother’s experience is unique, with its own challenges and meaningful moments.
“Having the right support can make a meaningful difference. Conversations like these are important reminders that a mother’s well-being matters too,” she shared.

Teresa Chin, Founder of Parenthood and facilitator of the forum, added that bringing together experts, mothers and industry partners creates an opportunity to address important conversations surrounding maternal and newborn well-being.

Toshiba Donates RM60,000 Worth of Home Appliances to Confinement Centres

As part of its commitment to supporting mothers during the postpartum period, Toshiba Lifestyle Malaysia is also donating home appliances worth approximately RM60,000 to three confinement centres: The Nesting Place Confinement Centre, Kimporo Postnatal Rejuvenation Centre and LYC Mother & Child Centre.

The donation includes:
