Why do they say London Bridge is down?

The phrase "London Bridge is down" would be used to communicate the death of the Queen to the prime minister of the United Kingdom and key personnel, setting the plan into motion.

Operation London Bridge is the code or password for the funeral planning that will take place in the weeks or months following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. His Majesty has occupied the royal throne since 1952, the longest period ever recorded in any monarchical system in the world.

During that period, His Majesty witnessed 15 British Prime Ministers take the oath of office including the latest, Liz Truss, two days ago, in addition to patronizing almost 20 Olympic Games events. Queen Elizabeth is also an icon for the Commonwealth of Nations, the founder or patron of more than 600 organizations and charities, and plays an important role in the bilateral relations of the United Kingdom (UK) with many countries.

Thus the departure of Queen Elizabeth will bring many changes, not only to the UK, but also to the world. Based on 'Operation London Bridge', on the day of Queen Elizabeth's death, her Private Secretary, Edward Young, will immediately give the message 'London Bridge is down' to the Prime Minister, Liz Truss.

The Prime Minister will then plan Operation London Bridge, starting with announcing her death to the outside world, preceded by 15 governments recognizing Queen Elizabeth as head of state.

It was then followed by an alert to 36 countries and other Commonwealth leaders around the world. The main Gates of Buckingham Palace will display the Queen's death notice with a black logo. At the same time, the news of the death will be spread to the media to be reported to countries around the world.

Every media outlet will be ready with the news and every radio station has a network to broadcast the notification of the national tragedy that is the death of Queen Elizabeth. All other news on the BBC will be paused, to make way for news of the Queen's death.

Newsreaders will change their clothes to black suits and the original red BBC News theme color will change to black. On the day of her death, the Queen's eldest son, Prince Charles will immediately be crowned as King Charles III. Business premises and stock transactions will be closed to pay respects.

On the day before the funeral, King Charles III will give his first official speech as King and head of state and will take the oath of allegiance with 41 salutes in Hyde Park, London.

After that, he will organize a tour of the UK, visiting government leaders in each state's capital, Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff before returning to London. During this period, television stations will play many documentaries available in honor of Queen Elizabeth.

The BBC will not play entertainment programs such as comedy programs until his funeral. Four days after the death, the Queen's coffin will be placed in a royal hearse and paraded from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, where she will lie for four days after King Charles and the royal family pay their last respects.

Later, the doors were opened to hundreds of thousands of people to pay the same respect. The funeral will take 10 to 12 days after Queen Elizabeth's death and the day of the funeral will be a public holiday across the UK. The Stock Exchange will close for the second time in two weeks and most businesses will follow suit.

At exactly 11 am, the Big Ben clock tower will ring its bell and the whole country will start meditating. The Queen's coffin will be carried out into Webminster Abbey, where distinguished guests pay their respects and pray.

Afterward, the coffin will be taken to Windsor Castle and finally to St George's Church where Queen Elizabeth will be laid to rest next to her late father, King George VI. Within a year of the funeral, the official coronation ceremony of King Charles III will take place.

In total, taking into account the various holidays, funeral expenses, and coronation festivities, Queen Elizabeth's death is expected to cost billions of pounds. - AGENCIES
