A Day of Adventure and Tradition at Weng Valley, Kedah. | On my last trip to Baling, Kedah we had the opportunity to visit Weng Valley located in Baling, Kedah. Various activities were conducted starting from 9:00 am until the afternoon.

As one of the newest tourist attractions, this time I'll share what's interesting about Weng Valley!

WENG VALLEY RECREATION CENTER!

Weng Valley is a recent attraction located in Felcra Gugusan Weng. The idea of creating a recreation center with various activities in Felcra is a thoughtful one.

Apart from bringing visitors and tourists from outside the area, it also contributes to the local economy and income.

WHAT IS FELCRA?

*Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra)* was established on April 1, 1966, by the then Deputy Prime Minister, the late Tun Abdul Razak Bin Dato’ Hussein. Felcra was created under an act known as the Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority Act 1966.

Felcra aims to address issues of land allocation by the government to citizens without assistance, specifically to improve the income of rural communities in developing these lands for agricultural purposes.

VISIT TO STINGLESS BEE FARM

Stingless bees, also known as kelulut bees, produce honey similar to honeybees. Weng Valley has its own kelulut bee farm. Visitors can see how kelulut bees are bred here and explore various kelulut honey products after processing, we also got to taste the honey straight from the propolis that day.

kelulut

Kelulut honey is said to have various health benefits and is considered superior to regular honey. Kelulut bees store honey in small pots lined with propolis. Kelulut honey is not as clear as claimed, and it has a slightly sour taste compared to regular honey.

These bees are essential pollinators in forests and for many fruit, flower, vegetable, and other plant species.
