RUNHACK: SCAM ALERT - RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT THE 'SCAMMER' WORLD. | RUNHACK: Scam Alert, an initiative organized by Synapze with full support from the Ministry of Communications and Digital, will host a carnival filled with games, races, and exhibitions resulting from collaborations with partners and sponsors.

The RUNHACK: Scam Alert carnival will take place at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil on December 3, starting from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.


Andrew Tai, the Director of Synapze, stated that the carnival is more than just a race. He emphasized that the organization of this running carnival aims to explore the use of technology and physical training while educating the public about various types of scams that are increasingly prevalent in the country.

"RUNHACK: Scam Alert provides Synapze with an opportunity to remind each other to always be cautious and vigilant in recognizing scam attempts, which are the modus operandi used by irresponsible parties," he said.

The organization of RUNHACK: Scam Alert, in general, aims to educate visitors about scams through engaging activities suitable for all age groups.

RUNHACK: SCAM ALERT TARGETS 1,000 VISITORS WITH VARIOUS INTERESTING ACTIVITIES


Targeting 1,000 participants, RUNHACK: Scam Alert will be held in the parking area of the National Stadium Bukit Jalil. Various interesting activities and games are provided to assess how to detect and avoid scams.

The main activity, the 5km Fun Run, involves people of all fitness levels running through four checkpoints where they need to scan QR codes, identify scam cases, and ultimately collect digital stamps. This interactive experience tests participants' skills in detecting scams and critical thinking in a stress-free environment.

Free jerseys and string bags will be given to all participants, and children will receive finishing medals. Participants have the opportunity to visit a photo booth and five interactive game stations: Firewall Breach Challenge (Kick & Score), SCAM Alert (Whack-a-Hack), Cyber Rush (Wind Chamber), Password Strength (Hammer King), and Busting Scam (Boom Blaster).

There are various opportunities for lucky participants in a lucky draw session with prizes worth over RM8,000 to be won.

RUN HACK 2023 IN COLLABORATION WITH THE FILM 'OPPA'

Run Hack 2023 also collaborates with the first awareness film in Malaysia titled 'OPPA,' which will be screened. It closely relates to romance scams under the collaboration of Dream Film Sdn Bhd and the Commercial Crime Investigation Department of the Royal Malaysia Police.

For those interested, the registration fee is RM70 for adults, and it is FREE for children under 12 years old. Each registered participant will receive an exclusive RUNHACK Scam Alert jersey, finishing medal, bag, beverage, and invaluable knowledge about the prevalent scam issues targeting Malaysians today.
